We specialize in event bartending services and beverage catering and have been providing services to thousands of clients since 2007. While there are other caterers available our sole purpose is to pour drinks. We offer diverse options and competitive or better pricing than other catering companies.

FAQ’s

  • We understand that every event is different and unique. You will work directly with one of our event coordinators to create a custom beverage catering package that fits your event.

  • Booking us is easy! Use the CONTACT US form on this website to send us a few details about your event. Once we receive that one of our in-house event coordinators will contact you. We will create a custom beverage catering package that best suits your event. Once a package has been created we require a $300 deposit.

  • Alcoholic beverages, non alcoholic options of mocktails, beer, and wine, coffee, soda, tea, and lemonade.

  • We are happy to work with you to create custom signature cocktails, or if you have a favorite recipe, share that with your event coordinator. You can even name your cocktail to fit your event. We also offer batch made drinks by the gallon.

  • Your deposit may be made by check, cash or credit card. Final payments must be made with a credit card payment. You will arrange that payment with the event coordinator you are working with. Deposit checks can be made out to Beverage Specialists and sent to 1607 Lakeshore Drive, St. Joseph, MI 49085. There are no additional charges for credit card use.

  • No - either your venue will supply that or you will need to rent a bar or tables to be used as a bar. We require a minimum of an 8 foot cloth covered table with a table behind it to be used as a back bar.

  • Yes, we are completely insured with general liability and alcohol liability policy. Our employees are also covered under our worker’s compensation insurance.

  • Our bartenders are TAM (Techniques in Alcohol Management) trained and certified as required by our insurance provider.

  • We are able to provide services in Michigan only per our licensing. We primarily service the greater Southwest Michigan area - stretching from New Buffalo north to Holland along the lake, Berrien Springs, Cassopolis, Edwardsburg up to Dowagiac, Marcellus, and Paw Paw. If your event is further than 45 miles from the St. Joseph area reach out and we are happy to check our schedule to see if we can accommodate.

  • Our standard uniform is a collared black short sleeve polo shirt with the Beverage Specialists logo on the left chest, black pants, and black shoes.

  • Our delivery team will bring product and supplies prior to the bartender's arrival. Bartenders are scheduled a minimum of one hour prior to the bar opening. Oftentimes they will be scheduled earlier if multiple bars are being used or if the bar set-up would interfere with a ceremony.

  • We take into consideration multiple factors to determine the amount of alcohol you need: Guest count, average consumption per guest, types of alcohol you are serving, date of event and length of time the bar is open. Rest assured, we take careful consideration when preparing your beverage package to ensure an ample supply of beverages to ensure an enjoyable experience for all of your guests.

  • Unfortunately, no. Per the State Of Michigan laws, cash bars are NOT permitted at an off-premise event. Non-profit organizations are permitted to apply through the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for a one day liquor license.

  • We are able to provide bartenders ONLY for events.

  • Yes, we are required by law to verify the age of any person we feel may not be of legal drinking age. If you appear under the age of 30, we WILL card you. Please tell your guests, especially your wedding party, to be prepared for this.

  • Our staff are trained to identify over-intoxicated guests and have practiced strategies to either slow down consumption, or when necessary, kindly cut them off.
